A couple of young guys in the church here decided to "bless" me for my birthday last year. Joey, who is our "youth pastor", and a friend of his, (and mine?), Steve, actually went to a friends studio and recorded "The Dave Morrow Tribute Song". I think there is a saying about parody being a form of complement. At least I'd like to think there is a saying that goes like that! Anyway, I'm OK with being made fun of of, because I know these guys love me, and I'm honored that they would go to this much trouble. Listen and have a laugh on me!

You burst upon our world like a comet
Like birdsong in the silver silence of dawn
Blah, blah, blah, some other sappy stuff.
Happy Birthday.
The end

Knuckle head (to be read with a gangsta accent)
If you weren’t living you would be dead
So hooray for cayenne peppa’
You look good, not like a heffa’
I ain’t neffa, done poetry like I done for you today
So hip hop hooray, have a happy birfday. WORD!

The hokey pokey
You put your right hand in, you put your hand out
Your parents did the hokey pokey and a Dave Morrow Popp-ed out
Today you’re 46 so shake your butt about
Just like a piggy’s snout

Out of the prayer room with a drop of sweat beads off his brow, steps the young gun, still slinging his axe like he's twenty-one.  Where he's headed to next, God only knows, too many places, too many shows. Yeah and sure there's a band to back him up, but this desperado.. we'll let's just put it this way.. does anyone know the members at a Dave Matthews show? (sorry mary, hannah, ryan, and tony)  Russia or Nicaragua, it's just another name on the map, it's the L.E. baby, the 951 that this gun slinging show makes it's home.  He's got a library of songs, most we're not 100% sure he truely wrote, but his name appears in the credits of the sunday morning slide show (yeah that's write he's got his own multi-media show...sorry folks no pyrotechnics it could scare the kiddies..).  So whether it's sunday gunfighting, wednesday solo's, or a special event for eskimo's (eskimo's? yeah that's right I said it... eskimo's) this young gun and his crew of desperado's always ride alone. (literally they all take seperate cars.. so I didn't really make that one up... )  Happy day of coming into this world a lil more than 21 years ago Young Gun. (I'm talking about dave morrow from the dave morrow band if you didn't catch on...)
Sincerely,
Stevie Six Gun's
